Najväčšiu časť samozrejme tvorí živočíšna potrava (u každého jedinca je to individuálne.. môj napríklad skoro vôbec nezje zeleninu ani žiadne ovocie.. pár krát sa mi podarilo, aby zjedol kúsok jablka, ale to bolo asi všetko), teda hmyz ako cvrčky; švábi; múčne červy - ale na tie pozor!! obsahujú veľké množstvo chitínu, ktorý môže spôsobiť obezitu, upchanie čriev a následnú smrť, preto by to nemala byť hlavná potrava, skôr na spestrenie jedálnička :P, môj keď vidí červa, tak po ňom hneď skočí, ale dávam ich len raz za týždeň..; zophobas - obsahuju vraj menej tuku ako múčne červy, a tak sú asi vhodnejšie keď už ho chcete dať; dospelé agamy žerú nezasrstené mláďatá myší (holátka), ale s tými nemám skúsenosť ešte som ich nedával, pretože môj je na to ešte malý.. mimochodom niekde som čítal, že dospelosť u agám je medzi 1 - 1,5 rokom..; podľa mňa je ale najlepší hmyz odchytení priamo v prírode ako lúčne koníky, muchy, húsenice.. Keď som môjho začala kŕmiť lúčnymi koníkmi, narástol mi veľmi rýchlo za 2 mesiace z 9,5 cm (keď som ho doniesol) na 17 cm.. :)) Veľmi dôležitá je pestrosť potravy živočíšnej ale aj zelenej.. Z rastlinnej potravy sa nedá konkrétne povedať, čo by ste mali dávať. Treba vyskúšať, čo mu zachutí :) Napríklad hlávkový šalát, listy a kvety púpavy, jablká, broskyne.. Malým agamám treba samozrejme podávať potravu po menších kusoch, ovocie, ktoré sa dá, je asi najlepšie nastrúhať..
